Everything 1.5 Alpha • Re: Modify Executable filter

Moved from properties and preview.



To modify the existing Executable filter to include dot files:
  • In Everything, from the Search menu, click Organize filters....
  • Select Executable
  • Click Edit....
  • Change the Search to:
    ext:bat;cmd;exe;msi;msp;msu;ps1;scr;vbs;dot
    (add ;dot to the end of the semicolon delimited ext list)
  • Click OK.
  • Click OK.


To create your own GlobalExecutables filter:
  • In Everything, from the Search menu, click Add to filters....
  • Change the Name to: GlobalExecutables
  • Change the Search to: ext:exe;dll;dot
  • Click OK.


Filters can be activated from the Search menu, Filter bar (View -> Filters), right clicking the status bar, filter macro or filter keyboard shortcut.



The default Everything filters are predefined.
They are based on common types found in the Windows Registry.
They are not complete lists, just common types.
