Sorry, lots going on lately, had forgotten...
I tried versions 1.41 and 1.5a, and nowhere is there an Advanced setting to be found (well not in Tools > Options anyway. I checked the other menu sections, and there were Advanced sections, but those were not relevant to what we're attempting to achieve here, as far as I could determine.
Do I need to dload and installed the non-Alpha version of Everything 1.5? I doubt it, but if you're getting completely different settings with that version, perhaps I might have to try that.
What I get from Tools > Options is this: https://postimg.cc/SjGkLf3B
The Ctrl + [ option is functional, although I would rather Tab to the drop-down field. Who knows, after having the option to Tab over and comparing it in speed and practicality, maybe cycling through the filter options with Ctrl + [ will be preferred...
Thanking you for your help, can you give further clues as to where to find these elusive Advanced settings you were referring to?

(Moved to the Everything 1.5 forum)
In Everything 1.5:
- Goto Menu => Tools => Options => Advanced
- In the right pane, typein Show settings containing: fieldtab stop
- Select filters_tab_stop
- Set its value to true
- OK
Now <TAB> cycles through search bar, Filters bar and result list.
Alternatively, press 'CTRL + [' or 'CTRL + ]' to cycle through the filters, while keeping the focus on the search bar.
